Blow-Through Rotary Valve DBS – precision in bulk material handling
A stable differential pressure is the key to any pneumatic conveying system. The DBS blow-through rotary valve from Neue JÄGER maintains constant pressure in its pneumatic conveying line, doses bulk materials with virtually no loss, and adapts flexibly to individual process parameters. The solution for your pneumatic conveying systems within our product portfolio is blow-through rotary valves, which are recognized as a reliable industry standard in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in the paint and varnish industry, and for conveying pigments such as marble powder or other ingredients.
How the DBS works: Functionality & operational benefits
The rotating rotor in the housing of our blow-through valve separates the flow above the rotary valve into precisely defined chambers, reduces backflow, and transfers the conveyed medium precisely to the pneumatic conveying line. This minimizes air consumption, minimizes product loss, and ensures virtually wear-free operation for years. Thanks to pressure-shock-resistant housings and precisely mounted shafts, the valve can handle even tough 24/7 shifts, reduces downtime, and significantly lowers its total cost of ownership. Rotary valves with up to 16 chambers and gap dimensions in the 1/10th of a millimeter range enable the use of our blow-through valves even with pressure differences of up to 3.5 bar.
Upon request, your rotary valve can be provided with a tungsten carbide coating, which significantly increases the service life of the blow-through valve, even with abrasive conveyed media, extends operating time, and reduces costs. Tungsten carbide has proven itself as a hard material and is an integral part of modern tools.
We coat the lock pipe, the axial and radial faces of the rotary valve, and, upon request, also the side covers.
Alternatively, we have also proven successful with the bearing covers made of HARDOX.
Facts, figures, and data – Performance and variants at a glance
The DBS series offers a wide range of products – compact, modular, and future-proof:
- Flow rates from 0.45 to 320 m³/h at 100% filling rate
- Differential pressures of up to 3.5 MPa to bridge even large pressure differences
- Temperature ranges from –20°C to +450°C, or even higher upon request
- Materials from steel 1.0577 to a wide variety of stainless steels such as 1.4301, 1.4571, 1.4408, and 1.4462 for aggressive media, or mild steel with tungsten carbide coatings or HARDOX® 400, 500, or higher for highly abrasive media of all kinds.
Other versions cover higher pressure and temperature ranges. This allows every of our blow-through valves type DBS to be precisely adapted to even sensitive or harsh conveying tasks.
Proven in Practice – Applications from Food to Chemicals
Whether dust-fine powder or free-flowing granules – our blow-through valves have already proven their worth in many industries:
- For wheat and rye flour in the food industry
- For granulated sugar, starch, and cocoa in confectionery factories
- For active ingredients and excipients in pharmaceutical reactors
- For polyamide and PET granules in compounding lines
- For cement, lime, or fly ash in the building materials industry
